Kendriya Vidyalaya, INS Dronacharya,  Kochi (Defence Sector)  was  opened  on 11 May  1983 with a handful of students and the teachers. It was located in the campus of INS Dronacharya, Fort Cochin. It  has  been  growing  length  and  breadth  ever  since  its  establishment.  In  the  year  2001 the school  was  shifted  to  the  new  building in Mundamveli, Ernakulam  District, Kerala State, in the site  provided  by  the  NAVY,  at present,the Vidyalaya has three sections each in classes I to X, and one section each in classes XI science  and XII science. We have started XI Commerce in the academic year 2011-12. We have Science Stream in the Higher Secondary Section with Computer Science as an elective subject and Informatics Practices as an elective subject for Commerce students.
